The Virginia Library selected Corazon Sandoval Foley as one of the eight Virginia Women in History 2017 for her community contributions, particularly in founding the Burke/West Springfield Senior Center (BWSSCWoW) and the Fairfax County Asian American History Project (FCAAHP) — both of which were supported by Fairfax County Chairman Sharon Bulova.  The local history work of Corazon Sandoval Foley began with her contribution to the legacy book “Fairfax County Stories, 1607 – 2007” to honor the 400 years since 1607 settlement of Jamestown of Fairfax County history:
