YMCA and AARP resources

YMCA has shared a series of health and fitness videos that are available on-demand. Choose from barre, yoga, active older adults exercises, pilates, tai chi, art classes and more.

Additionally, AARP offers a wide variety of articles and resources, including workouts, cooking tips, recipes, and healthy living tips.

Thanks to your fitness club, this temporary site allows free access to 100+ workouts during the COVID-19 disruptions. There's no need to subscribe. Talk to your club if you'd like a special offer to subscribe to 800+ streaming workouts available wherever and whenever you want to work out.

You may or may not want to participate in Body Pump, but there are more gentle exercise videos available. They include yoga flow and barre.

  • Try the post-pregnancy videos for gentle fitness
  • Have little ones sharing the house/apartment with you? Try the "Born to Move" videos.
  • More interested in meditation? Try the "The Trip" for gentle music and beautiful videos.

OTHER AT-HOME RECREATION AND EDUCATION

Try some of these videos and web links for the classes that are normally held as drop-in classes. Whether it's games, languages, or exercise, take advantage of the stay-at-home situation and have some fun.

The popular Walking Club is free and usually meets three days a week (Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) with Jerry Cantor. Walks begin at 8:00 a.m. and depart from the Lake Barton service entrance. You may register by email: walkingseniors@gmail.com.

Most of the drop-in classes are physically located at the Pinn Community Center. A current NCS membership card is required to attend these classes. Registration forms are available on the website or can be completed at the front desk.
